What Are UV Water Filters/How Do They Work?

Ultraviolet aka UV is used to safely disinfect drinking water. They do not use potentially harmful chemicals during the sterilisation process.

Ultraviolet purification is highly effective, killing up to 99.9% of microbes or pathogens that can cause waterborne illness such as cholera, diarrhea, typhoid, amebiasis, hepatitis, gastroenteritis, giardiasis, campylobacteriosis, scabies, and worm infections, to name a few

Our UV water filter is comprises of a stainless steel chamber that contains ultraviolet lamps, housed within a quartz sleeve. As thew water is forced through the filer, it’s exposed to the intense UV light emitted by the 40 watt lamps, breaking the DNA chain and stopping the bacteria from developing further.

The resulting water has no bad odour or taste and is effectively purified.
